Tony Koma started his career in the 90s, calling himself T-Roc. A lot of songs between 2001 and 2005 became so called "internet-hits" and brought him a lot of fans and bookings from Sweden all the way down to Cyprus, Rhodes and Australia.
In 2006 T-Roc wanted an alter-ego, to create a different type of music. After a while that alter-ego; Tony Koma, became his new nickname.

The foundation in the music is always hiphop, that beat from the oldschool combined with a futuristic touch. Tony Koma stands behind it all, rap, singing harmonies, producing music and videos, and in 2008 the debutalbum got released. Swedish Jota Records stepped in and signed Tony Koma and PRELUDE hit stores december 2008.

But the story before this is a long one.
Raised by an alcoholic mother in a chaotic home, Tony Koma found hiphop when he was 9 years old. By the time he was 14, 1994, he recorded his first song in a local studio.
By the time he was 18, in 1998 he was already a veteran in rap with hundreds of shows across the country. Unfortunately, he was also a veteran of trouble. Courtdates and studio-bookings was an everyday thing, and in 2001 he was close to a jailsentence. "That was my wake up call" he says. "F*ck being stupid like that, I have a chance to make it."

A few hectic years followed. As an opening act to the biggest bands in Sweden, T-Roc started to make a name for himself.
"But you know, no manager or agent makes it hard to reach out when youre not that good at the whole internet-thing"he says and laughs.

Still here today 2010, Tony Koma is considered a hiphop-veteran by many. More than ten inofficial albums released, hundreads of features on mixtapes and an official debutalbum in stores, Tony Koma is more than ready for the spotlight.
"To hell with the cash and the fame. This is my diary, my best friend and my psychologist. I have to do this or Ill go insane. Or jump on that wrong train again. Music is all I have" he says. "If I make it big one day then that would be a dream come true, of course. But if not, Im not bitter. Its not easy doing everything by yourself and if I fail, then at least I tried".

As one of his close friends, trying to be a manager in any way I can, I believe him.
Tony Koma deserves a shot for the spotlight and this Metro On Stage is just one of many things that I try to promote him with.
Hopefully you guys out there like it.
